Artist's Comments

Taken in the docklands in London near canary wharf. The sun was glinting off the highly polished brise-soleil and drew my eye.

Post Processing: Perspective adjusted (equivalent to perspective shift lens) and polarised.

Very nice picture. I like the way the building itself looks like it is some kind of gradient. I can't really explain it, but the lighting is sublime.

Thanks very much ... it caught my eye glinting in the sunlight ... and the polarising really brings that out I feel

i like it! but there's something awkward about the composition. i can't quite place it though. it feels like there's sort of a dead end at the lower right corner. but it's a really great shot :D

Yeah, I know the concept. I've been experimenting lately with sunlight glinting of things.

you would have cropped it so that the building ran from edge from edge?

The geometry in this photograph is priceless. You framed this shot perfectly, and also did an amazing job with the exposure creating that pastel grey sky that seems as if it had been drawn on. Lovely work!

I was surprised how that sky came out too ... it was a beautifully clear day, but because I was looking away from the sun, and because the building was so bright, the sky came out a really dark rich blue ... which was an amazing offset in black and white.

This is quite good. I like the way you've captured this building. I like the architecture of certain areas as a marker of past and present and where the world is going.
